June 13, 2025: Important outpatient lab services update

Some Labcorp locations at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) facilities are currently experiencing extended wait times, limited hours or unexpected closures due to our transition away from Labcorp for outpatient lab services in South King and Pierce counties. 

To improve coordination of care and provide a better experience for our patients, VMFH is bringing lab services in-house. As part of this change:

  • Labcorp Patient Service Centers in VMFH facilities in South King and Pierce Counties will close at 12 p.m. on June 27, 2025. (List of locations below.)
  • New VMFH Patient Service Centers will reopen on Monday, June 30 to serve VMFH and Franciscan Medical Group (FMG) patients only.

We apologize for any inconvenience during this transition. Please call ahead to confirm hours if you need lab services before June 30. If you plan to visit a Labcorp location before June 27, we encourage you to call before you arrive, please visit their website for location contact information Labcorp Patient Service Centers.

Which lab should you go to?

Our laboratories provide superior customer service focused on meeting the needs of our patients and providers.

Virginia Mason Medical Center patients may use any of these sites for outpatient blood draws:

All other blood draw locations:

Pre-procedure labwork – Lab testing related to a hospital-scheduled surgery or hospital procedure, including blood transfusions, can be done at any Virginia Mason Franciscan Health hospital laboratory or one of the Outpatient Patient Service Centers listed below.

Outpatient labwork – For lab testing not related to any hospital-scheduled surgery or hospital procedure, go to any LabCorp Patient Service Center, or on the Kitsap Peninsula, to one of the Franciscan Medical Group Patient Service Centers.
